LA JOLLA, CA (August 7, 2020) – On Tuesday afternoon in La Jolla, a two-vehicle collision injured a pedestrian. The August 4 incident occurred where Nautilus Street and La Jolla Boulevard intersect, according to Robert Heims. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a Toyota Prius–proceeded on a red light into the intersection. The Prius struck a vehicle–described as a Ford F150–broadside. According to Heims, the Ford had proceeded into the intersection when the light was green.
According to Heims, the impact of the crash shoved the Ford, which hit the pedestrian who had been on the corner of La Jolla Boulevard and Nautilus Street.
Responders transported the pedestrian to a hospital. The victim suffered a broken leg, and other injuries that were described as serious. His current condition is not known. He was identified only as 77 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
