Man Arrested For Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident That Killed Michael Anthony Juan Pavich
VISALIA, CA (August 12, 2024) – Jorge Torres was arrested after an investigation in the death of Michael Anthony Juan Pavich. Pavich was a bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run accident near the intersection of Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way late Monday night, according to the Visalia Police Department.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when, under unclear circumstances, Jorge Torres, allegedly, struck Pavich, the bicyclist and fled the scene before police arrived. Officers responding to the call found the victim deceased at the scene.
Jorge Torres Vehicle Was Found A Short Distance From The Crash Site
A short distance from the crash site, authorities discovered the abandoned vehicle, a black Ford Fusion, allegedly owned by Jorge Torres and believed to have been involved in the incident.
The Visalia Police Department were actively investigating the case and is asked for the public’s help in identifying the driver. They determined Jorge Torres was the owner of the car involved in the death of Michael Anthony Juan Pavich.
