Jeep Hits San Diego Man and Dog Running in Poe Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 26, 2022) – On Thursday morning in San Diego, a vehicle struck a man and a dog who were running in the middle of the roadway in the Point Loma Heights area. The August 25 crash occurred on Poe Street, close to Nimitz Boulevard.
The time was roughly 6:45 a.m., San Diego Police said.
According to authorities, the man was chasing after his dog after the dog came off the leash.
While they were running in the middle of the street, a vehicle–described as a Jeep–struck them.
Responders transported the injured man to a hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as serious.
His current condition has not been reported.
The man was identified only as 56 years old. Reports do not state his name and city of residence.
Responders transported the dog to a veterinarian for treatment. The dog’s injuries and current condition are not known.
The driver stopped and remained at the crash site, and cooperated with the investigation. The driver has also not been identified.
