Woman Dies in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash in Bell Gardens
Bell Gardens, CA (April 4, 2024) – Janet Young, a 62-year-old resident, tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Gage Avenue near Chalet Drive. The incident occurred on April 4 at approximately 8:00 p.m. as she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk after purchasing food from a nearby taco stand.
Bell Gardens Police officers reported that the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident failed to stop and identify themselves before fleeing the scene. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded promptly to the scene, where they found Young critically injured. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries at the crash site.
