JAMUL, CA (January 11, 2021) – A crash near Jamul on Sunday morning near Jamul killed a bicyclist and a motorcyclist. The January 10 incident occurred on Otay Lakes Road.
The time was roughly a little before 9:30 a.m., Thomas Shoots said. Shoots is a spokesperson with Cal Fire San Diego.
A line of bicyclists had been riding on the road near the Pio Pico RV Resort and Campground, reports say. A motorcyclist, who had been passing by, struck the bicyclist who was last in the line, according to reports.
Responders arrived and provided medical attention to both people, but the two patients died at the crash site.
The identity of the bicyclist, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The identity of the motorcyclist has also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work to understand the crash.
