Actress Jamie Lee Curtis was hospitalized briefly after a serious car accident in Venice Beach on last Thursday.
The “Freaky Friday” star and “New Girl” guest star, 54-years-old, was taken to the hospital via ambulance with the assistance of paramedics after the black Yukon sport utility vehicle she was riding in was involved in a collision with a BMW, according to celebrity news organization, TMZ.
“Jamie was indeed a passenger in a car involved in a collision this a.m.,” the actress’s rep told E! News on Thursday. “She went to the hospital to be checked out, but she is fine and is home resting.”
As her rep stated, Curtis was soon after released from the hospital and is taking care of her condition at home.
According to early reports, the accident occurred at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Rose Avenue around 10:10 a.m. The vehicle Curtis was riding in was crashed into by another vehicle on the road. Details have not been released but it is clear the sports utility vehicle Curtis was in was not at fault for the accident.
The “Veronica Mars” actress suffered minor injuries and complained of pain before being taken to the hospital, E! reported. It is unclear if she had whiplash or minor bruising and abrasions following the traffic collision.
Another person, the driver of the SUV Curtis was riding in, according to the Hollywood Reporter, was believed to have suffered more serious injuries and was taken to the emergency room. They are still hospitalized and their condition is unknown at this time.
TMZ later reported that Curtis phoned pal and fellow actress Jodie Foster immediately after the crash. The Oscar winner apparently showed up at the scene of the accident to escort Curtis to the hospital and help her during the ordeal.
