Hit-and-run Driver Injures Bicyclist in Irvine, Flees on 133 Toll Road
IRVINE, CA (May 22, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver struck a bicyclist late at night on Saturday in Irvine, and then fled the accident scene. The May 18 incident occurred at on the ramp for the 133 toll road from Irvine Boulevard.
The time was roughly 11:00 p.m., Paul Rosales said. Rosales is a public safety operator with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say officers arrived on scene and discovered the victim. The driver of the vehicle that hit the bicyclist had already left.
Respondents transported the injured bicyclist to a hospital. The injuries he suffered have not been reported, and his current condition is not known. The victim’s identity, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
No description has been reported of the vehicle that struck the victim, or of the driver. Investigators are continuing their search for the alleged hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved in the incident.
