18-year-old driver involved in illegal street racing kills his passenger Sunday in Riverside, CA.
A Young male driver of a Ford Mustang hit a parked car at speeds excess of 100 mph and is said to have been under the influence of alcohol.
Paramedics used Jaws of Life to rescue victims from their totaled vehicle. Passenger was critically injured on impact and died shortly after reaching hospital. Driver suffered only minor injuries.
Driver hit a parked Honda. Both vehicles then hit an electric pole. The impact was so great, the Honda wrapped around the electric pole and its battery landed nearly 100 yards from the scene.
Experts estimate the Mustang was moving at speeds nearing 120 mph in the residential area of Northwood Avenue near La Sierra.
The driver was arrested by authorities after being released from the hospital and now faces several offences which are under investigation, one of them being manslaughter.
