Two People Walking Across Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach are Struck and Killed in Separate Incidents
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (March 11, 2019) – In two separate incidents in Huntington Beach —one late Saturday, and one early Sunday—two people who were crossing Beach Boulevard on foot were struck and killed.
At roughly 10:45 p.m., the first incident occurred where Slater Avenue intersects Beach Boulevard. According to Huntington Beach Police, the victim—identified as a woman who was 50 to 60 years of age—had been walking across the street. A vehicle—described as a Nissa Versa—hit her.
Reports say that the woman had been walking in an area that was not within a crosswalk. The vehicle, which had been traveling north on a green light, struck the victim. Respondents arrived and pronounced the woman deceased at the accident scene. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle—identified as a woman 47 years old and a resident of Cypress—stayed at the accident scene. The driver’s name has not been reported.
At roughly 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, a second incident occurred involving a pedestrian. The accident happened close to Warner Avenue on Beach Boulevard.
Report say that the pedestrian—identified as a man 19 years old and a resident of Greeley, Colorado—had been walking on the road in an area not within a crosswalk. A vehicle—described as a Kia Optima—had been traveling north with a green light when it hit the man.
Respondents arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the accident scene. The name of the man has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the Kia—identified as a man 26 years old and a resident of Riverside—stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver’s name has not been reported.
