Huntington Beach Crash Kills Driver and Injures Caltrans Workers on 405 Freeway
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (May 1, 2020) – On Thursday night in Huntington Beach, a vehicle crashed on the 405 Freeway, killing the driver and injuring Caltrans workers. The April 30 incident happened in the freeway’s southbound lanes, close to where Beach Boulevard is located, according to Michael Stoney. Stoney is a sergeant with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say a Dodge Dart car smashed into a Caltrans sign truck and trailer as two Caltrans workers were getting ready to establish a closure.
Responders arrived and pronounced the person who had been driving the vehicle deceased at the incident site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Responders transported the two workers to the hospital. The injuries they suffered have not been described, though they were said to be not life threatening. The identities of the two Caltrans workers, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported.
