Two People Identified as Victims Killed in Huntington Beach Crash
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 21, 2021) – Cindy Darrelyn Zerovs and Mitchell Tyler Wade were identified as the victims killed in a collision involving three vehicles on Tuesday in Huntington Beach. The January 19 incident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway at Warner Avenue.
The time was roughly 6:45 p.m., Ryan Reilly said. Reilly is a lieutenant with Huntington Beach Police.
A vehicle–described as a Dodge Ram pickup truck–had been heading north on Pacific Coast Highway. The driver is alleged to have gone over into the lanes of opposing traffic, and smashed into two other vehicles. The two other vehicles were described as a Toyota Solara and a Lexus RX350; the vehicles struck had been traveling south.
Responders arrived and pronounced the driver of the Lexus deceased at the crash site. She was identified as Cindy Darrelyn Zerovs, a resident on Huntington Beach, 71 years old.
Responders transported the driver of the Toyota to UC Irvine Medical Center located in Orange. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.
He was identified as Mitchell Tyler Wade, a resident of Newport Beach, 19 years old.
Responders transported a woman who had been traveling in the Lexus to OC Global Medical Center located in Santa Ana. She suffered injuries that were described as moderate.
She was identified only as 45 years old. Her name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was identified as Eric Kinser, a resident of Sunset Beach, 35 years old. Responders transported Kinser to UCI Medical Center.
Investigators are working on the details and information related to the incident.
