An 85-year-old man was able to extricate himself from his vehicle after he crashed it into his own pool. The car crash happened in Altadena.
The crash was reported around noon on Saturday afternoon. The crash happened in 2700 block of Scripps Place, where firefighters were dispatched to the home after a report of a person trapped inside their vehicle in their pool was made.
Crews arrived, but found that the man had already removed himself from the vehicle.
“He told us that his shoe or sandal got caught in the pedals of the vehicle and drove through the rear part of his garage and into his swimming pool,” said Captain Jeffrey Sims of the Los Angeles County Fire Department to CBS2’s Art Barron.
The man was uninjured in the crash and decline medical transport or treatment. It is not clear if he will be facing any criminal charges for his act. It is also not clear how he will remove the vehicle from his pool.
