Woman Riding Bicycle on Orange Drive in Hollywood Killed by Hit-and-run Driver
HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 28, 2019) – A woman who was riding a bicycle early in the morning on Friday in Hollywood was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The October 25 incident occurred on Orange Drive, near Hollywood Boulevard and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 2:25 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say the victim had been heading north on her bicycle on Orange Drive. A vehicle—described as a sedan, silver in color—which had also been heading north on Orange Drive, hit her. The driver did not stop to help the woman, but left the scene of the incident.
Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the incident site. The identity of the victim was reported only as 49 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are collecting details and evidence to locate the suspected hit-and-run driver, and the vehicle involved. Los Angeles offers a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to hit-and-run drivers who are involved in collisions with fatalities being arrested and convicted.
