Suspect Fleeing Deputy in Highland Collides with Vehicle, Killing Elmer Hull
HIGHLAND, CA (November 6, 2018) – A suspect who was fleeing from a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputy on Monday struck a vehicle in Highland, killing a man.
The November 5 incident occurred when the suspect ran through a red light after fleeing from a deputy. The time was roughly 4:50 a.m.
According to the sheriff’s department, the suspect driver—identified as Frankie Ybarra, a 42-year-old resident of Rialto—was pulled over close to Mirada Road and Victoria Avenue by a deputy. As the deputy walked toward the suspect’s vehicle, Ybarra drove away.
According to officials, Ybarra then ran through a red light at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Victoria Avenue. His vehicle collided with a vehicle that was driven by Elmer Hull, a 62-year-old resident of San Bernardino. Hull died in the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Ybarra was arrested. No other details have yet been reported.
