Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Hesperia
Hesperia, CA (May 13, 2024)— A pedestrian was fatally struck at the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue late Monday night, as reported by Hesperia Police.
The incident occurred around 11:19 p.m. when a pedestrian, for unknown reasons, began crossing Main Street northbound in the crosswalk against a red light. A westbound Toyota, which had a green light, collided with the pedestrian.
The Victim Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the accident but were unable to save the victim, who succumbed to severe injuries at the scene. Witnesses indicated that the pedestrian had just left a nearby 7-Eleven prior to the accident.
The Toyota sustained visible damage to its front left side. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities have yet to identify the victim or determine the exact cause of the accident. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Hesperia Police Department.
