HESPERIA, CA (August 2, 2018) – A man and a woman suffered injuries in a head-on crash Tuesday night in Hesperia. The accident occurred at roughly 8:00 p.m. on Caliente Road close to Ranchero Road.
According to reports, two vehicles—a Kia sedan and a black Mercedes-Benz—collided head on.
Responders arrived at the scene of the accident to provide medical attention. A helicopter from the San Berndardino County Fire Department took a man who was injured to a trauma center that was located out of the area. The man had been the driver of the silver Kia sedan.
Responders took the driver of the Mercedes-Benz to a hospital in the area. Her injuries were described as less severe.
Sheriff’s deputies found a handgun and a bottle of liquor that was opened inside a backpack the Kia sedan was carrying. It is not clear from reports if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Investigators are continuing their examination of the details of the crash.
