Driver Crashes Intentionally into Toys for Trucks Store in Hesperia
HESPERIA, CA (October 5, 2018) – A driver intentionally crashed into a Toys for Trucks store in Hesperia Monday night, causing significant damage. The October 1 incident occurred on Hesperia Road in the 11300 block. The time was roughly 10:40 p.m.
According to reports, deputies received reports that a truck—described as a 2008 Chevy Silverado—had crashed on purpose, several times, into the store. Caleb Brown, who was driving in the area, heard glass breaking and saw the back of the truck in the interior of the store.
Brown said that the driver moved the truck forward, again, and smashed what was in front of the vehicle. The driver then exited the truck, and walked behind the store to leave, the witness said. Brown stated that the driver appeared intoxicated.
A helicopter and sheriff’s deputies searched for the driver suspected in the incident, but were not able to find the man. The suspect was identified by the business’ owner by looking at surveillance video of the incident. The owner identified the suspect Keith Silva, his employee. The video showed the suspect driving into the building several times.
Police arrested and booked Keith Joseph Silva for felony vandalism.
