Hesperia, CA (April 22, 2024) – Two individuals sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and 2nd Avenue on Monday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred around 12:13 p.m., involved an eastbound 2006 Toyota Camry Solara and a westbound Chevrolet van. According to reports, the driver of the Toyota, a woman, failed to stop at a red light on 2nd Avenue, resulting in a collision with the Chevrolet van, which was making a southbound turn onto 2nd Avenue.
Mercy Air Helicopter Was Dispatched To Air Lift The Victims To A Hospital
Emergency services responded swiftly, with Hesperia police arriving minutes after the crash to assess the situation. Paramedics on the scene requested a Mercy Air helicopter to airlift the woman to a trauma center due to the severity of her injuries. The male driver of the Chevrolet van also sustained major injuries to his arm and sought medical treatment.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident and are investigating all possibilities, including impairment, speed, and distracted driving.
