Two Young Women Identified as Victims Killed in Hemet Crash
HEMET, CA (December 15, 2020) – Dane Adkins-Radford and Emily Hale were identified by the Riverside County coroner as the two victims who were killed in a crash in Hemet on Saturday. A driver suspected of DUI in the December 12 incident was arrested.
The crash occurred in the area of Kirby Street and Florida Avenue at roughly 4:00 a.m. A vehicle–described as a Honda Fit hatchback–had been stopped and waiting for a light that was red, reports say.
A vehicle–described as a BMW 535i sedan–struck the back end of the Honda without braking, according to Hemet Police.
Hale and Adkins-Radford were killed. According to the coroner, Adkins-Radford died at the crash site. Hale died at Riverside University Health System Medical Center.
The two women were both residents of Hemet, 21 years old.
The driver of the Honda at the time of the crash has not been identified in reports.
A third occupant of the Honda was seriously injured. She has not officially been identified in reports, but a web page containing information from family members of the crash victims identifies her as Alyssa. The woman’s last name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
Authorities arrested the driver of the BMW, who is alleged to have attempted to flee the crash site. He was allegedly stopped by a witness.
The driver of the BMW was identified as Jesus Rios, a resident of Downey, 33 years old. Reports say he was not hurt in the crash.
Rios was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, attempted hit-and-run, and DUI.
