Head-on Crash on Wildcat Canyon Road in Ramona Kills Woman
RAMONA, CA (June 9, 2020) – On Sunday afternoon, a head-on crash in Ramona killed a woman. The June 7 incident occurred on Wildcat Canyon Road near Ketuull Uunyaa Way, and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 1:20 p.m., according to Travis Garrow. Garrow is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say a vehicle–described as a sedan–had been heading south on Wildcat Canyon Road. For reasons that are not known, the vehicle went out of the driver’s control and traveled into the lane of opposing traffic. The sedan collided with another vehicle–described as a truck.
The person who had been driving the sedan died at the incident site. She was identified only as resident of San Diego, 21 years old. Her name has not been reported.
Responders took the person who had been driving the truck to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were described as minor. The victim was identified only as 61 years old. Her name has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work to understand why the crash happened. They are collecting details and information.
