One driver was sent to the hospital with major injuries after surviving a head-on collision with another car on Old Oregon Trail Road in Redding.
The accident occurred on Thursday morning just after 8:30 a.m.
Apparently, the driver of a Dodge pickup was headed northbound on Old Oregon Trail, near Colombia Elementary School, when they attempted to complete a left hand turn. As they turned onto Accident Lane, they hit an Explorer that was going south on Old Oregon Trail.
The two cars hit each other directly head on.
The driver of the Explorer was taken to the hospital with reportedly moderate injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene, but did not need to be taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The California Highway Patrol say that the accident is still being investigated.
