Man Struck and Killed on Cathedral Oaks Road in Goleta
GOLETA, CA (November 19, 2020) – On Friday morning, Travis Gottlob was struck and killed in Goleta. The November 13 incident occurred on Cathedral Oaks Road close to where Glen Annie Road is located.
The time was roughly 8:30 a.m., according to Santa Barbara County Fire.
A vehicle, described as a Mazda Miata, which had been traveling on Cathedral Oaks Road struck Gottlob, who had been walking in the roadway, reports say. It is not clear from reports exactly where Gottlob had been walking when he was struck.
Responders from Santa Barbara County Fire, AMR, and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene to help. Responders pronounced Gottlob deceased at the crash site.
Gottlob was a resident of Santa Barbara, 45 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation. The driver was identified only as a resident of Goleta, 23 years old. The person’s name and gender have not been reported.
