Glendora Multi-vehicle Crash on 210 Freeway Kills Two
GLENDORA, CA (December 17, 2020) – Two people were killed early in the morning on Thursday in Glendora when multiple vehicles collided on the 210 Freeway. The December 17 incident occurred mostly in the freeway’s eastbound lanes, near the 57 Freeway and to the west of it.
The time was roughly 12:13 a.m., according to Kevin Reese. Reese is a sergeant with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the CHP first received reports that a single vehicle, which has not been described, crashed. As responders were traveling to the site, reports say, a number of subsequent crashes were happening.
According to Reese, six vehicles that had been traveling in the freeway’s eastbound lanes crashed, and a seventh vehicle that had been traveling in the freeway’s westbound lanes crashed. None of the vehicle have been described.
The sequence of crashes involving each vehicle has not been described. None of the drivers have been identified. The reasons for the first crash has not been reported.
The incident killed two people who had been drivers. One driver had been thrown from the vehicle or had exited the vehicle and then was struck. The person had been thrown into the freeway’s westbound lane, and then the seventh vehicle that was involved in the crash struck the person.
The other person who died had been in a different vehicle. The vehicle the person had been traveling in has not been described. The person has not been identified.
Reports do not say if others were injured in the crash. Investigators are working to understand the incident, and they are collecting information for that effort.
