SUV and Pickup Truck Involved In Morning Crash on 22 Freeway
GARDEN GROVE, CA (April 25, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision caused traffic delays Friday morning on the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway just west of Harbor Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 7:52 a.m. and involved a white Lexus SUV, a black Chevrolet pickup truck, and a third unidentified vehicle. One of the vehicles temporarily blocked the carpool lane, contributing to congestion during the morning commute.
CHP & OC Fire Authorities Arrived And Quickly Moved Vehicles of the the Side of the Freeway
Emergency responders from CHP, Orange County Fire Authority, and the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Crews worked quickly to move the damaged vehicles to the right shoulder and center divider, fully clearing the roadway by just after 8:00 a.m.
Although no major injuries were confirmed, the blaring horn of the Lexus SUV could be heard in the background of a 911 call, initially raising concerns among dispatchers.
Tow trucks were called in to remove the vehicles as CHP launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Authorities continue to urge drivers to exercise caution in the area.
