Woman is Hit and Pinned Underneath Vehicle in Garden Grove; Rescued by Firefighters
GARDEN GROVE, CA (January 29, 2019) – A woman was hit by a vehicle at gas station in Garden Grove on Saturday night, and pinned underneath until she was rescued by firefighters. The January 26 accident occurred on Garden Grove Boulevard, at the Arco Service Station located at address 12931.
The time was roughly 10:45 p.m., the Garden Grove Police Department said.
According to Thanh Nguyen, who is a captain with the Garden Grove Fire Department, firefighters lifted the vehicle off of the victim by using hydraulic jacks. Paramedics treated her at the accident scene, and took her to UCI Medical Center.
The identity of the victim, including her name, age, and city of residence has not been reported. The types of injuries she suffered are not known, but reports say her condition is critical, yet stable.
The person who had been driving the vehicle that struck the woman stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation. Reports say the driver was not believed to be impaired.
