Two Dead After Tesla Collides with OCTA Bus in Fullerton
FULLERTON, CA (April 12, 2025) — Two people were killed and several others injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a Tesla, an Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus, and a pickup truck early Saturday morning in Fullerton.
The fatal collision occurred around 6:45 a.m. on April 12 at the intersection of East Orangethorpe Avenue and South State College Boulevard, according to the Orange County Register.
The Driver of The Tesla Ran A Redlight And Struck the Passenger Side of The Bus
Fullerton Police said the driver of a white Tesla allegedly ran a red light and struck the passenger side of a gray 1991 Toyota pickup truck before crashing into the side of the OCTA bus.
An adult female passenger in the Tesla was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Five passengers aboard the OCTA bus sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. No injuries were reported in the pickup truck, which sustained moderate side damage.
Tow crews removed the Tesla, which had major front-end damage, and the other two vehicles from the scene. The bus sustained moderate damage along its driver’s side.
