Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident in Fresno
Fresno, CA (April 30, 2024) – Tragedy struck at the intersection of Polk Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue in Fresno, as a pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident.
The Fresno Police Department reported that the fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. According to preliminary investigations, a male pedestrian was struck by a driver in an unidentified vehicle near Teague Elementary School. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene without providing any assistance to the victim.
Emergency Service Quickly Transported The Man To a Local Hospital Where He Later Died
Emergency services rushed to the scene following the incident. Paramedics quickly transported the victim, described only as an unhoused individual, to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he tragically passed away shortly after arrival.
Authorities have withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
The Police Department is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information regarding the hit-and-run driver to come forward and assist with their investigation.
