Horrific Crash at McKinley and Westlawn Avenues Leave Two Killed, Two Injured
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 15, 2025) — Two young adults were killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle collision Thursday night at the intersection of McKinley and Westlawn avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:06 p.m. on May 15, 2025. Authorities say a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Westlawn Avenue when its driver reportedly ran a stop sign and was struck broadside by a Chevrolet pickup truck heading westbound on McKinley Avenue.
Skye Banda of Selma Was Killed Instantly While Isac Gomez of Fresno Died Later At The Hospital
The impact killed 20-year-old Skye Banda of Selma, who was seated in the front passenger seat of the Civic. The driver, 22-year-old Isac Gomez of Fresno, was transported to a local hospital with major injuries but was later pronounced dead.
Two occupants of the Chevrolet pickup—a 70-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman—sustained minor to moderate injuries and received treatment at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
