Man Seated on West Jensen Avene in Fresno Killed by Big Rig

FRESNO, CA (August 31, 2018) – A man died Wednesday night after a big rig ran over him in Fresno. The accident occurred on West Jensen Avenue close to Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The time was roughly 9:40 p.m.

According to Lieutenant Mark Hudson, the accident occurred a little bit after a driver who had been heading west on Jensen Avenue saw a person seated on the road. The driver veered to avoid hitting the person.

The driver then made a U-turn and drove back to the person seated on the road. The driver tried to persuade the person seated to get out of the road and onto the sidewalk. The person seated, however, stayed on the street. A milk crate was in the person’s lap.

In a few moments, a big rig that was traveling westbound hit the person seated in the road. The victim died. The big rig driver did not see the seated person.

According to reports, the truck’s driver stopped at the accident scene, and cooperated with the investigation.

No other details are currently available as to why the person was seated on the road.
