Another fire occurred Saturday in the Cajon Pass. Several lanes of 15 Freeway were closed. One person was injured.
Many fires are burning in California. One of the fires claimed the life of a U.S. Forest Service firefighter. David Ruhl, a fire fighter from south Dakota, died in the Frog fire.
The Forest Supervision issued a statement of sympathy for Ruhl’s family and friends. Governor Brown also issued a statement of sympathy.
Eight hundred acres were burned by the Frog fire. Governor Brown has declared a state of emergency.
California is plagued by drought and weather extremes, causing it to be described as a “tender-box”.
If necessary, the National guard will be deployed.
Evacuations have been ordered for several of the fires.
Twenty-two acres burned in the Rocky fire.
Fire fighters have been working 24/7 to contain the fires.
The Rocky fire burned several buildings.
There are 18 large wildfires in California. Nine helicopters have been placed in action by the National Guard.
Seven mobile homes were destroyed by a fire that attacked a mobile home park.
