The U.S. Coast Guard is now beginning to investigate in a recent boating accident that happened in the bay area. The high speed accident took place this past weekend. The accident was between a Golden Gate Ferry and a 22 Foot Motorboat, according to the police. The accident occurred at around 4 p.m. on Saturday near the San Francisco Bay. The Investigators are still determining what caused the accident and who is at fault for it.
Golden Gate Transit spokeswoman Mary Currie said the motorboat was traveling at high speed when it collided with the MS San Francisco, which was about 10 minutes into its 30-minute trip from Sausalito to the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
The ferry was taken out of service so an investigation could take place, then put back in service on Sunday, Currie said. The crew members of the boats and the ships will all be drug tested and place under administrative leave.
