Carlsbad Woman Identified as Victim Struck and Killed Walking Across Intersection
CARLSBAD, CA (April 21, 2022) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Felicita Vazquez Flores as the woman who was struck and killed in Carlsbad last Thursday. The April 14 crash occurred close to where South Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive intersect.
The time was roughly 5:00 a.m., Carlsbad Police said.
Reports say Flores had been walking when a Chevrolet work truck hit her. Responders took her to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment.
Flores died three days after the crash. She was a resident of San Marcos, 56 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site, as well as a number of witnesses; they cooperated with the investigation.
The driver was identified only as 40 years old. The person’s name has not been reported.
Investigators are working to learn why the crash happened. They are continuing to collect details. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call Carlsbad Police.
