A horrible vehicle accident on Wednesday resulted in the death of a famous bass player. Carl Reber Goff Jr., also known as, “Chuck”, was Toby Keith’s bass player. Goff was killed in a two-car collision on Wednesday. The accident occurred at exactly 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Cemetery Rd and 96th Street
Meghan McCormick, spokeswoman for the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, says that the accident is still under investigation. Only the drivers in each vehicle were involved in the accident. Fortunately, the other driver was not injured in the accident.
Goff was not only a talented base player for Keith but also a songwriter. He helped Keith write award winning songs like “Upstairs Downtown” and “You Ain’t Much Fun”. Toby Kieth’s publicist claims that he is distraught. He also released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our band member, Chuck Goff. “He was a close friend for over 25 years, the band leader and bass player. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.”
