Suspect Arrested in DUI Crash that left 1 Dead on PCH in Dana Point
Dana Point, CA (November 9, 2023) –Tragedy struck Dana Point on the evening of November 5 as a fatal DUI crash claimed the life of a yet-to-be-identified man and led to the arrest of Evan Owen, a 43-year-old resident of Littleton, Colorado. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Coast Highway, just south of Palisades Drive.

The victim, who was behind the wheel of a 1999 Plymouth, fell victim to the crash when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 2019 BMW driven by Owen. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries, and his identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Evan Owen, with ties to Littleton, Colorado, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and second-degree murder. Authorities revealed that Owen possessed prior experience as a volunteer firefighter in the county of Los Angeles.
