Police Seek Driver Who Killed Pedestrian in Felony Hit-and-Run Accident
Escondido, CA (January 25, 2025) – A 32-year-old man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday evening near the intersection of Rock Springs Road and Seven Oakes Road, authorities said.
The Escondido Police Department reported that the incident occurred on January 25 at approximately 6:00 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle struck the man as he was walking in the roadway.
Bystanders Attempted To Save Man’s Life Before Paramedics Arrived
Bystanders attempted life-saving measures, performing CPR until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of his next of kin.
The driver involved fled the scene and remains at large.
