ESCONDIDO, CA (July 26, 2018) – Two drivers were injured Wednesday afternoon after they collided head on. The accident occurred on San Pasqual Valley Road in the 1900 block, close to South Citrus Avenue.
The time was roughly 4:45 p.m.
Reports say that one driver, described as a man 42 years old, was traveling north on San Pasqual Valley Road. For reasons that are not known, his vehicle traveled over the center line and hit a vehicle head-on that had been heading south. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was described as a man 39 years old.
The man who was the driver of the vehicle that crossed the line suffered injuries that were described as life threatening. His injuries included a torn aorta, and blunt force trauma.
No other information was available about the condition of the other victim.
Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
Investigators are continuing to examine the evidence.
