Escondido Crash on I-15 Near Via Rancho Parkway Kills Motorcyclist
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 21, 2020) – On Sunday night in Escondido, a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle killed the rider. The December 20 incident occurred on I-15 on the southbound side of the freeway, close to Via Rancho Parkway.
The time was roughly 9:55 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
No details have been reported on how the collision occurred, and where each vehicle was struck. According to reports, a person who witnessed the incident said the motorcyclist was on the ground in the right lane, close to where the on-ramp for Centre City Parkway is located.
The identity of the rider has not been reported, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
The driver of the vehicle has also not been identified, and the vehicle has not been described. It is not known if the driver suffered injuries in the crash, nor if there were any other occupants in the vehicle who may have been hurt.
Investigators are working to understand the crash’s circumstances, and how it occurred.
