Escondido Crash at Broadway and Country Club Drive Kills Both Drivers
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 22, 2020) – On Sunday night in Escondido, a two-vehicle crash killed both drivers. The December 20 incident occurred where Country Club Drive and Broadway intersect.
The time was roughly 9:51 p.m., Kevin Toth said. Toth is a lieutenant with Escondido Police.
A vehicle–described as a Nissan 300ZX–had been southbound on Broadway. Another vehicle–described as a Volvo S40–had been traveling on Country Club Drive and heading east.
The two vehicles collided in the intersection. According to Toth, it is not yet known which vehicle had the right of way.
Responders arrived and found both of the drivers died in the crash. The driver of the Nissan–identified only as a man, 20 years old and a resident of Escondido–had not been wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. His name has not been reported.
The driver of the Volvo was identified only as a woman, 42 years old and a resident of Escondido. Her name has not been reported.
