Dominick Nunez in Custody After Killing Pedestrian on Mooney Boulevard in Hit-and-Run Incident
Tulare, CA (January 20, 2025) — A tragic hit-and-run accident on Mooney Boulevard near Cross Avenue claimed the life of Emishia Shakira Hodges on Sunday evening. The Tulare Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 8:15 p.m.
According to authorities, 26-year-old Dominick Nunez of Visalia struck the 32-year-old pedestrian while traveling northbound on Mooney Boulevard. Nunez fled the scene but later returned and confessed to leaving out of fear.
Emishia Hodges Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene of The Crime
Emergency responders arrived to provide life-saving measures, but Hodges, a resident of Tulare, succumbed to her injuries.
During the investigation, Nunez cooperated with law enforcement and is now facing felony hit-and-run charges. He remains incarcerated at the Tulare County Jail, South County Division.
