Popularly known as road rage, aggressive driving is one of the biggest threats on the road. Not only is the aggressive driver negligent, but they could potentially cause serious injury or death.
A Northern California man has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony elder abuse after he allegedly beat up an 83-year-old man in what police described as a “road rage rampage.”
Police said they were called to a home in Rocklin, northeast of Sacramento, just before 10 a.m. after getting a report of a fight.
When they arrived, they found an elderly man in the garage with numerous injuries.
A witness told authorities he tried to stop the fight but was assaulted by the same suspect. A second witness also reported being nearly run over by the suspect, who fled the scene in his car.
Police said the suspect, 33-year-old Zubin Bogandoff, followed the man home and attacked him in his garage.
Bogandoff was booked at Placer County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, felony elder abuse and battery.
The elderly man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Bogandoff had also been arrested on suspicion of battery four days before the alleged road rage attack. In that case, he went into a grocery store, seemed to be in a rage, and allegedly hit a patron in the store.
