Bus Hits Big Rig on Imperial Highway; 20 Injured In El Segundo, CA
EL SEGUNDO, CA (June 29, 2022) – On Monday morning in El Segundo, a bus collided with a parked big rig, injuring 20 people. The June 27 crash occurred at 2310 Imperial Highway.
The time was roughly 8:20 a.m., Deena Lee said. Lee is the El Segundo Fire Chief.
Reports say twenty people were traveling on a Los Angeles Department of Transportation commuter bus.
The person was who the big rig’s driver is alleged to have been standing in the road’s number 3 three lane, according to authorities, and unloading equipment from the big rig.
The commuter bus struck the big rig’s driver, and the bus went out of the driver’s control.
The bus rolled over, and landed on its side.
Responders transported the big rig’s driver to the hospital. He suffered injuries described as critical.
His identity has not been reported.
Responders also transported other patients to the hospital. Three of them suffered injuries that were described as critical.
Two of the patients suffered injuries that were described as moderate.
Those who suffered minor injuries included fifteen patients.
No one involved in the crash has been identified in reports.
Investigators are in the process of working to understand the crash by collecting details and information.
