Big-rig Crashes and Falls Off 60 Freeway in El Monte, Killing Two People
EL MONTE, CA (September 5, 2018) – An accident on the 60 Freeway involving a big-rig killed two people Sunday morning in South El Monte. According to reports, the truck plunged off the freeway after the crash.
At roughly 4:40 a.m., the bi-rig collided with the rear end of a sedan in the eastbound lanes of the freeway. The truck then went out of control, and plunged off the overpass. It hit Peck Road, below the freeway, according to California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the big-rig, and the driver of the sedan died at the scene of the accident.
The victims had not yet been identified, and investigators are continuing their examination into the cause of the crash.
