Man Hit by Car after Accident in El Cajon
El Cajon, CA (April 16, 2024) – A man was injured in a hit-and-run accident on West Washington Avenue on Tuesday evening, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
The incident occurred on April 16, around 10:20 p.m., in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue. According to authorities, the accident happened following a collision between two vehicles. The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation.
One Driver Started Taking Pictures After The Accident
After the initial collision, one of the drivers involved got out of his vehicle to take pictures of the damage. At that moment, an eastbound pickup truck struck him.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a hospital to receive treatment for major injuries.
Reports indicate that the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene and did not provide any assistance.
Investigators Have Released Some Info About The Suspects Car
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a white or gray pickup truck, possibly with damage, including a missing mirror on the passenger side. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the El Cajon Police Department at (619) 579-3311.
