Vehicle Kills Woman Walking Across Washington Ave. in El Cajon
EL CAJON, CA (September 11, 2020) – On Thursday night, a woman who was walking across Washington Avenue in El Cajon was struck and killed. The September 10 incident occurred in the area where South Orange Avenue intersects.
The time was roughly 11:00 p.m., Jeremiah Larson said. Larson is a lieutenant with El Cajon Police.
The woman had been walking across the street, and a vehicle, which had been heading west on Washington Avenue, struck her. The vehicle has not been described.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the incident site. She was identified only as in her 50s. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the crash has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Reports do not say if the victim had been walking within a marked crosswalk.
Investigators are working to collect details and information to understand why the crash happened.
