EL CAJON, CA (March 2, 2021) – Early this morning in El Cajon, two vehicles collided on I-8, killing one person. The March 2 crash occurred in the eastbound lanes, close to where 2nd Street is located.
The time was roughly 2:45 a.m., California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say two vehicles collided, but the manner in which the crash occurred has not been described. The vehicles involved have also not been described.
Responders arrived to help. One person was killed in the collision. The person’s identity has not been reported.
Responders transported a patient to a hospital for treatment. The types of injuries the person suffered were described as minor. The identity of the patient, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Reports do not say if each driver had been the sole occupant of the vehicles at the time of the crash.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and they are in the process of collecting information about the incident.
