Person Walking Across South Mollison Ave. in El Cajon is Struck and Killed
EL CAJON, CA (October 8, 2020) – On Wednesday night in El Cajon, a person who was crossing South Mollison Avenue on foot was struck and killed. The October 7 incident occurred near Main Street.
The time was roughly 7:40 p.m., according to Jason Taub. Taub is a lieutenant with El Cajon Police.
The pedestrian had been walking across South Mollison Avenue, not within a crosswalk, according to investigators. A vehicle–described as an Acura four-door–which had been traveling south, struck the pedestrian.
Responders arrived and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the incident site. The victim was identified only as 75 years old. The person’s name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the driver has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances related to the crash.
