Head-on Crash on La Cresta Boulevard Near El Cajon Seriously Injures Two People

EL CAJON, CA (August 28, 2020) – A head-on crash on a rural road near El Cajon seriously injured two people on Thursday morning. The August 27 incident occurred on La Cresta Boulevard, close to Mountain View Road.

The time was roughly a little after 8:30 a.m., according to Jim Bettencourt. Bettencourt is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

Two vehicles–described by witnesses as a white van and a red sedan–collided head on. The circumstances of the crash have not been reported, and it is not known if one of the vehicles traveled into the lane of the other vehicle.

Responders arrived and took two people to a hospital, one by ground transport and the other by airlift.

The identities of the two victims have not been reported, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. It is not known what types of injuries they suffered, or their current condition.

Reports do not say if any passengers were present in the vehicles that collided. The driver of each vehicle has not been identified.

Investigators are working to understand the circumstances of the crash by collecting details and information.
