Cable Truck and Car Collide on I-8 in El Cajon; One Person Dies
EL CAJON, CA (January 12, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Saturday in El Cajon, a small car and a Cox Communication cable truck collided, killing a person. The January 9 incident occurred on the off-ramp for Greenfield Drive from Interstate 8.
The time was roughly 4:33 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say the two vehicles collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. It is not known from reports how many people were involved in the crash besides the two drivers. Reports do not say if each driver had been the sole occupant of the vehicle when the collision occurred.
One person was killed in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known which vehicle the person had been traveling in.
No one involved in the collision has been identified in reports.
Investigators are working to collect information and details about the incident to understand why it happened.
