At least eight people were injured in an accident involving three vehicles, according to authorities. The crash happened late Friday night.
Fire officials reported that one vehicle had overturned in the crash.
The crash occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It happened on the Pacific Coast Highway near Heather Cliff.
Five people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries, according to officials. Three people injured in the crash were transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to Sky2’s Stu Mundel. Three ambulances were requested, according to the responding crews.
The Pacific Coast Highway was closed by officials in both directions at Heather Cliff as a result of the crash.
No names or ages of those involved in the crash were released. It is not clear what caused the multi-car crash. Police are investigating the crash. Investigators did not elaborate on if drugs or alcohol were involved.
