Driver Suspected of Killing Fullerton Man is Arrested
FULLERTON, CA (August 23, 2022) – A person who is suspected of the hit-and-run crash in Fullerton that killed Elfego Andrade was arrested. Reports identify the suspect driver as Jonathan Ocampo, a resident of Anaheim, 21 years old.
The August 18 crash occurred at Ladera Vista Drive and Chapman Avenue.
The time was roughly 5:00 a.m., Fullerton Police said.
Andrade had been riding a bicycle when he was struck by a pickup truck. The force of the crash threw him from the bicycle.
The suspect driver fled the crash site on foot, according to reports.
Andrade died in a trauma center after the crash. He was 67 years old.
Police later located Ocampo and arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
